21 March 2009, Sinovel's Baotou Wind Power Manufacturing Base Established in Qingshan Manufacturing Center.

With a projected investment of RMB 1 billion and a total area of about 35 acres, the construction of Stage 1 of Sinovel's Baotou Manufacturing Base will commence in 2009, and is scheduled to be completed for operations in the same year. Upon completion of the whole construction, it will comprise of a production capacity of 1,500 MW wind turbines. and the project will beco'e one of China's largest manufacturing bases for MW-grade wind power equipment. The successful implementation of this project will draw more wind power equipment enterprises into the Qingshan Manufacturing Center, increasing the community of wind power industry enterprises in Baotou which will actively contribute to the establishment of Qingshan District as a major equipment manufacturing base in the mid-west region.
