At 15:58, June 8th, 2010, all the 34 sets of 3MW offshore wind turbines in Shanghai Donghai Bridge 102MW Offshore Wind Farm, the first national offshore wind demonstration project in China, were connected to the grid and put into operation to provide clean energy for Shanghai Expo 2010. With cutting-edge technology, these worldwide mainstream 3MW offshore wind turbines adopted for the project were developed independently by Sinovel.

SL3000

The SL3000 series wind turbines are mainstream wind turbines in the world, adopting advanced technologies. This series can fully meet the requirements for installations in onshore, offshore, intertidal applications as well as in other various areas. With the rated power of 3,000kW, the rotor diameter of 90/100/105/113m and the hub height of 80/90/100/110m, this series employs multiple world-leading patented technologies, and possesses low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) capability. This series is adaptable to all wind zones, environmental conditions and grid codes and requirements in the world. In November 2009, this series won the Gold Award at the CIIF 2009 (China International Industry Fair 2009). In February 2011, this series also won the First Prize of Science and Technology in Jiangsu for the year 2010. In November 2011, Sinovel won the first prize for national energy progress in science and technology.
