On the morning of June 17, 2011, Wang Qishan, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier of the State Council, headed a delegation to Sinovel Baotou base. Tao Gang, senior vice president of Sinovel, elaborated on the facts that the company hit a new high in production with an increased installed capacity of 4,386 MW in 2010, maintained the lead in China and jumped from the world¡¯s number three to number two, as well as its future development plan. Wang spoke highly of Sinovel¡¯s achievements in such aspects as technical innovation and independent R & D in recent years, requiring Baotou to vigorously renovate and improve traditional industries, actively cultivate and develop emerging strategic industries such as wind power, and accelerate industry optimization and upgrading to build a modern industry system.
Leaders such as Hu Chunhua, Party secretary of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region People¡¯s Congress accompanied Wang for the visit.
