On May 25, 2011, American International Wind Energy Assembly and Exhibition (AWEA WINDPOWER 2011) concluded in Anaheim Exhibition Centre, California, US. As China¡¯s first and the world's second wind turbine R & D and manufacturing enterprise, Sinovel Wind Technology (Group) Co., Ltd. (601558.SH) (hereinafter referred to as Sinovel) gloriously appeared on the Exhibition to show its latest achievements in research and development.
China's first 6-megawatt wind turbine self-developed by Sinovel was officially produced on May 18 in its comprehensive industrial base in Yancheng, Jiangsu province. This is China's currently largest wind turbine in unit capacity. Sinovel SL6000 series wind turbines have been released, attracting wide attention both inside and outside the industry, and CCTV has had relevant in-depth news coverage.
Depending on the booth design rich in sense of technology and interactive features, as well as its booth staff¡¯s careful introduction, Sinovel showed the visitors its core competitiveness in research and development, offshore wind power, international market development and other aspects, and established a technology and innovation-oriented and internationalized business image.
In recent years, Sinovel has been steadily advancing its internationalization strategy. Currently, Sinovel has already established its subsidiaries in such countries as the United States, Canada, Spain, Australia and Brazil, further with more subsidiaries actively in preparation in India and other countries. All subsidiaries are frequently participating in local marketing activities, so that the company's reputation in the markets around the world has been significantly improved, and a major breakthrough has also been made in international market development: on April 12, Sinovel signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Greek PPC company, and under the agreement, the two sides will jointly develop a 200-300-megawatt wind farm and an offshore wind farm in Greece; at the same time, Sinovel will build a wind turbine production base in Greece. According to the news from India, the ten 1.5 MW wind turbines imported from Sinovel in 2009 are operating well, and widely received by the owners and the local power sectors.
American International Wind Energy Assembly and Exhibition, founded in 1995, was organized by the American Wind Energy Association, initiated as an exhibition in 2004 in San Francisco, and then toured in the U.S. After several years¡¯ development, this Exhibition has become the most authoritative and most influential exhibition in wind profession.
