The National Energy Offshore Wind Power Technology and Equipment R&D Center

The Center was built by Sinovel upon approval from the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration. It is the only national R&D center focused on the study of offshore wind power technology and equipment in China. The Center was built with an aim to attract top global talent in the R&D of wind power technology and equipment, becoming the wind power technology and equipment R&D facility with world-leading technologies, state-of-the-art equipment, and the strongest R&D and laboratory capabilities. Presently, the Center has developed the leading 3MW, 5MW and 6MW onshore, offshore and intertidal series of wind turbines, and has been carrying out the technical R&D of wind turbines with a large capacity of 10MW or above. In addition, a testing platform for wind turbines and key parts or components with a capacity of 15MW is under construction in a bid to resolve technical problems faced by China in the development of offshore wind power and lead the development of global wind power technologies.
